Application of atomic force microscopy in investigations of dental alloy surfaces

Introduction. The aim of this informative paper is to show the importance and key role atomic force microscopy, on one hand, in quantitative determination physicochemical changes surfaces dental materials due their exposure acids and, other quantification properties alloys after processing consequences itself quality applicability same. Methods. Atomic microscopy was used obtain data quantitatively describing nanoscale Co-Cr caused by formic acid over a 7-day period describe effects electropolishing black brush polishing surface roughness alloys. Results. Analysis topography treated with shows that both methods are applicable dentistry leave defects insufficient size for microorganisms. Treatment studied leads an increase roughness, indicating presence corrosion processes, especially areas interdentritic nanocrystals. Conclusion. aforementioned treatment can be followed great detail using technique analysing its roughness. method extraordinary evaluation use dentistry.
